Singapore, Singapore

Nestled in the heart of Southeast Asia and just at the tip of the Malaysian peninsula, the island country of Singapore is a melting pot of Chinese, Malay, Indian and Western cultures. The Lion City is one of the world’s most dynamic, vibrant and prosperous nations.

Despite being highly urbanised, Singapore has plenty of parks and almost 50% of the country is covered by greenery. Its central urban area is filled with attractions such as the Esplanade, Marina Bay Sands, Singapore National Museum, and the iconic Merlion. For those who want to shop for designer clothes, hot gadgets and bargain items, Orchard Road features large shopping malls right next to each other.

Beyond the city center, there are also other places worth visiting, such as Sentosa, an island resort with a sheltered beach, golf courses, hotels, and a theme park. Neighborhoods including Holland Village, Katong and Geylang each have its own distinct vibe, with food stalls, restaurants and shop houses.

The transport system in Singapore is very efficient. It is likewise a major international transport hub in Asia, positioned on many sea and air trade routes.
